Highlights of Lukas' 1st week of life

Hi there, this is Lukas speaking. From now on, this blog is going to be written by me.

I am now 6 days old, and my daddies can already tell I am a genius! I am always so attentive when my eyes are open, and I let them know when I am going #2s with a wry little smirk! I am also very good at telling them when I am hungry or want my diaper changed.

My daddy has not been very good about keeping this blog updated, so I'll take you through the past few days...

Here we are on Monday, leaving the hospital--how exciting for us all! The nursing staff/paparazzi was awesome and made us feel like superstars.

On Tuesday we drove up to Auntie Sarah & Uncle Doug's home in Mountain View, CA. They have been such great hosts! They cook
for us, help with feedings and cleanings, and have helped make our time away from MA really fun. Here I am with Baba (that's Greek for 'Dad') and Auntie Sarah.

On Thursday, I got the hiccups--AGAIN! My daddies looked online and discovered this is perfectly normal and to-be-expected since I had them so often in mommy's belly.

Daddy (Tom) took video of it, he thinks I am so cute.

Today, I went out for a walk outside for the very first time...and it was in the 60's outside! In California, that is...it was in the single-digits in MA. :( But we still can't wait to get back to New England, especially to meet Nahnah, Gramps, Mum, Auntie Ann, and all of dads' friends who can't wait to meet me!
Here is a video of us going outside.
I met a nice neighbor who gave my daddies some good advice. :)

This could be it!

It appears Lukas will be arriving soon! Us two dads hung out with his birthmom most of the day today, along with two of her other three sons (ages 1.5 and 6, totally adorable and good boys). We all had a great time together. We know it's getting really close, Lukas' mom was definitely in some pain (poor thing!) having periodic contractions in her lower back throughout the day, and she was also getting some other indicators that the delivery should be happening very soon.

We said goodbye to each other for the day around 3:30pm, by but 7pm she called and was having much more frequent contractions. She had a friend take her to the hospital to get checked, and she is now dialated 4cm, and she is pretty sure Lukas will be arriving tomorrow (now today, 12/11) in the morning or afternoon! They sent her home for right now, but she is officially "in labor." Poor mamma is in some pain, but her spirits were high, as they have been for most of this journey---she is truly a wonderful person.

We are very excited! It's nearing 1am now, and we're pretty much ready for the call saying "time to head to the hosptial." We'll see if we can get any sleep in the meantime.
See you soon, Lukas Kontoravdis Bourdon!!!

Lukas is on his way!

Today is Thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for. We are mere days away from the arrival of Lukas Kontoravdis Bourdon! His dads are already in San Francisco, just waiting for a call to head down to Fresno for his birth. So much aniticipation!
